Devs Drive Appcelerator Growth
Appcelerator, a platform for developing native mobile, desktop and iPad applications, said today it now powers over 4,000 mobile applications in the iPhone and Android app stores.
Appcelerator’s traction with developers, agencies, and businesses is increasing at a rapid pace. Over 65,000 developers have built 4,000 iPhone, iPad, and Android apps to date, up from just 500 since general availability in March. The current pace now exceeds 1,000 new applications per month and the company anticipates that over 10,000 applications will be developed in 2010.
“Since the release of Appcelerator’s all native platform in March, we have seen an exponential increase in the pace of application development,” noted Jeff Haynie, CEO of Appcelerator.
“Some developers are on their sixth app in just a few months, and several have seen their applications hit the top of the charts.”
